Albert Thomas : Le centenaire du Bureau international du travail

Ralph Waldo Emerson, le philosophe de la Nouvelle Angleterre a écrit qu’ « une institution n’est que l’ombre allongée d’un homme ». C’est assurément le cas pour l’Organisation internationale du Travail (OIT) dont le centenaire a été célébré à Genève au début de sa conférence annuelle tenue en mai 2019. Albert Thomas, premier Directeur général de l’OIT, a mis en place presque tous les éléments qui ont été développés par la suite.
